TECHALLIANCE HAS ANNOUNCED that it is among 12 regional innovation centres in the province to connect to the CENGN (Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks) testbed through the ORION network.
A not-for-profit organization, ORION provides ultra high-speed fibre optic connectivity to its connected institutions, linking them to each other and to a global grid of research, education and innovation networks, which enables ongoing learning and collaboration in Ontario.
As part of the ORION community, TechAlliance can provide the region’s small- to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) access to the CENGN (Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks) commercial-grade, multi-site testbed infrastructure to test and validate their products and solutions.

Leveraging partnerships between ORION, CENGN and Ontario Centres of Excellence, TechAlliance will be a partner in delivering valuable new tools to accelerate technology businesses and drive economic impact.
“We look forward to delivering this essential initiative to Southwestern Ontario’s fast-growing ventures in pursuit of accelerating commercialization and propelling our region’s innovation economy to compete in new global markets,” said TechAlliance CEO, Christina Fox, in a prepared release. “Joining the Next Generation Network Program as part of the ORION community enables innovators with new pathways to world-class resources.”
Regional innovation centre clients like TechAlliance will also be benefit from ORION’s shared IT services and cybersecurity training.

This program allows for more connections to be made between Canada’s technology innovators and industry leaders. SMEs can tap into a robust broadband network to conduct the research they need to commercialize their products, enabling collaborations between industry, government, researchers and academia.
