Northern Commerce commits $150,000 to Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario

NORTHERN COMMERCE HAS announced their newest Northern Cares charitable partnership with Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario.

The partnership includes a donation of $150,000 worth of digital services to support the growth of Habitat for Humanity in their mission to empower families through affordable homeownership.

Northern Cares (NCares) is an extension of the Northern brand and provides a platform for the company’s corporate philanthropy and charitable initiatives. Each year, Northern selects a non-profit organization to partner with to facilitate their digital transformation and expansion of their online reach.

“This partnership will be an exciting game-changer in terms of the work we can do in our community” ―Brian Elliot

“Our team has volunteered at several Habitat projects in the past which have shown us first-hand how life changing the impact of the organization can be,” says Corey Dubeau, VP marketing at Northern. “I am proud to share Northern’s recent commitment to Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario. Now more than ever, organizations such as this need a strong digital presence in order to build awareness and support for their cause.”

Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario helps build stronger communities across most of Southwestern Ontario by providing zero-interest, no down payment homeownership. Established in 1993, the group has served nearly 100 families to date by providing affordable housing and established a remarkable impact in their communities.

“We are extremely grateful that Northern has chosen Habitat Heartland as their next NCares partner,” says Brian Elliot, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario. “This partnership will be an exciting game-changer in terms of the work we can do in our community. With Northern’s expertise and guidance, we will be able to build a strong digital presence that will reach more families, more potential donors, and more volunteers than we have ever been able to reach before. We are excited to work with Northern to achieve our vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.”

In 2019, Northern announced their first charitable partnership with Humane Society London & Middlesex. Together, the two organizations achieved significant results with a 36 per cent increase in donations and nearly 1,300 new visitors to the shelter compared to the previous year.
