JA’s Bev Robinson to step down

Junior Achievement of Southwestern Ontario president and CEO, Bev Robinson, has announced her retirement

BEV ROBINSON, PRESIDENT and CEO of Junior Achievement of South Western Ontario, has announced that she will be retiring in 2021. She will leave her position effective July 1, 2021.

Robinson started with Junior Achievement of London and District in January 2000 as a program manager and became president and CEO in 2007. She has also been serving in the role of acting president and CEO for JA Waterloo Region since 2019.

Robinson has steered the organization through significant change over the past 20 years, balancing the needs of staff, volunteers, students, educators, donors and sponsors and achieving a reach of more than 19,000 youth and 860 volunteers in the two regions. Since taking the reins as CEO, the regional organization has doubled its revenue and created a number of programs and initiatives that have been rolled out nationally. Robinson also successfully led the amalgamation of the original London and District charter with JASWO in 2019 to form the new JA South Western Ontario.

“I’ve watched the impact JA has on youth in our community as shy students transformed in front of me to confident young adults,” Robinson wrote in a statement. “I’ve felt the energy and passion that all students, volunteers and teachers have for JA.”

Until her retirement, Robinson will continue in her role, preparing teams in both charters for a transition. The JA Southwestern Ontario board of directors has formed a CEO succession committee and will begin recruitment efforts for a successor in January.
