APPOINTED Victor Harris, enterprise strategy manager, Northern Commerce.

ANNOUNCED By Air Canada, cancellation of the daily midday flight between London and Toronto, effective February 2020, leaving two daily flights at 6:15 a.m. and another at 4 p.m.

NAMED Shane Wang (associate professor of marketing, Ivey Business School), to the Marketing Science Institute’s 2021 Class of Young Scholars.

ANNOUNCED By Hard Rock Hotels, plans to locate a new 353-room Hard Rock Hotel at 100 Kellogg Lane (be completed in two phases, with an initial 163-room opening planned for late 2022 and final site completion in 2025).

APPOINTED Jason Menard, senior consultant, user experience research & content strategy, Northern Commerce.

ANNOUNCED By General Motors, $1-billion investment to transform its CAMI plant in Ingersoll to manufacture commercial electric vehicles for its BrightDrop subsidiary.

ANNOUNCED By WeedMD, closing of Bowmanville packaging plant, moving and consolidation of packaging operations to Aylmer extraction facility.

APPOINTED Jack Lane (broker, eXp Realty Brokerage), London an St. Thomas Association of Realtors (LSTAR) 2021 president.

ANNOUNCED By payments and integrated software firm Paystone, closing of $69 million in strategic financing from Canadian Business Growth Fund and National Bank of Canada.  

RETIRING Megan Walker, executive director, London Abused Women’s Centre, effective August 31, 2021.

ANNOUNCED By FedDev Ontario, $7.2-million support and expansion investment in The Grove at Western Fair District.

RECEIVED By CYHealth, a division of Carmina De Young Inc., $2 million in federal funding to purchase machinery and increase production of PPE gowns for Health Canada.

ANNOUNCED By AutoVerify, powered by Mobials Inc., a second dealer support program that waives monthly software fees on its AutoVerify Suite, which now includes newly developed e-Commerce functionality, until July 31, 2021.
