Second London-Toronto bus service launches

OnexBus will begin London to Toronto bus service this week

A SECOND LONDON to Toronto bus service is set to launch Wednesday.

Missisauga-based OnexBus will depart up to six times daily on weekdays from London to Toronto’s Union Station, with an identical number of return trips. The service will operate limited runs on weekends.

Last month, Megabus, in partnership with St. Thomas-based Badder Bus, brought back London to Toronto bus service in wake of Greyhound’s decision to withdraw from the Canadian market, which left the Forest City without a bus connection to the GTA.

OnexBus is operated by a consortium of a number of private coach lines, and according to the company, the starting fee for a London to Toronto trip is $30. The service will offer a direct London to Toronto route, as well as a connection route with additional stops in Woodstock, Kitchener and Mississauga.

The primary service difference between the new OneXBus service and Megabus is boarding points. In London, Megabus picks up and drops off passengers at the Flying J Truckstop on Highbury Avenue South. OnexBus will utilize a downtown departure point (the old Greyhound station on York Street) and will also offer pickups by request at White Oaks Mall and near Victoria Hospital.
