For Jodi Simpson, launching relocation and settlement service CityMatch in 2015 was the culmination of a long-sensed entrepreneurial pull to leverage her experiences and passions to positively impact the community. “I waited for the right moment, nurturing the idea until I shared it with trusted mentors who recognized its potential,” Simpson explains.

“Entrepreneurship can be lonely, but I’ve come to realize it doesn’t have to be — building the right team makes all the difference” ―Jodi Simpson

Today, guided by a team of all-woman employees from diverse professional backgrounds, CityMatch has supported over 1,000 relocations from 37 countries, successfully providing smooth and stress-free relocation experiences for clients from Toronto to Tokyo.

“Our definition of success hasn’t changed — it has only deepened,” says Simpson. “There is genuine joy and fulfillment in the work we do and the impact we make in the lives of those choosing to call our region home.”

If anything has changed, she notes, it’s an understanding that success is something to be shared. “I’ve learned that growth doesn’t have to mean going it alone, which is why bringing in a strong second-in-command, like Carmelita Tang, was a pivotal shift. Having a trusted partner has not only supported CityMatch’s growth but also reinforced the importance of shared leadership. Entrepreneurship can be lonely, but I’ve come to realize it doesn’t have to be — building the right team makes all the difference.”
