In 2008, when Sarah Queale launched financial business services firm Synergy Tax & Business Solutions, the catalyst was a professional life that had hit the wall. “I am highly motivated by opportunity, and I found myself in a position where I saw no opportunities ahead of me at my job,” Queale recalls. “Challenged to create my own opportunities for growth, I decided to set out on my own.”
“So many of us, especially professional women, suffer from ‘imposter syndrome’, sometimes held back by our own doubts and our struggle to find our seat at the table. Overcoming these doubts is something I work on regularly”
In doing so, she also created a culture of her own design. “We are committed to developing long-term, flexible employment opportunities with a focus on hiring women and supporting female entrepreneurs. We create these career-pathing opportunities through educational supports, mentoring and focusing on the importance of work-life balance.”

In many ways, Queale’s approach is reflective of her own experiences as an entrepreneur. “So many of us, especially professional women, suffer from ‘imposter syndrome’, sometimes held back by our own doubts and our struggle to find our seat at the table. Overcoming these doubts is something I work on regularly by looking with pride at what I’ve been able to accomplish, investing in self-improvement and focusing on being a positive leader who lifts others up and supports my female colleagues along their journeys.”
