EUPHY ZUEJUN LIU oversees operations, strategic planning and business development at AEON Canada, a manufacturer and supplier of ready-to-assemble and pre-assembled cabinets for builders, homeowners and contractors. Known for tackling complex, non-routine challenges, she is currently spearheading the design and development of a new 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility central to the company’s long-term strategy. Arriving in London as a student, she chose to stay and build opportunity where others saw limits — helping transform a small showroom into a regional operation while creating jobs and contributing to the city’s economic momentum.

What is your biggest career achievement so far, or the thing that you’re most proud of?

Building AEON Canada from the ground up into a trusted supply partner in the Canadian construction and renovation market. What I’m most proud of isn’t just the growth, but creating a business that’s known for reliability, speed and design-forward thinking — and building a team that genuinely cares about doing things well and delivering quality products.

What’s one unexpected thing you like to tell people about your job?

A lot of my job has very little to do with our main product — the cabinets — it’s really about logistics, problem-solving and managing uncertainty. At the end of the day, it’s about making other people’s lives easier.

When you’re not working, what are you most passionate about?

Quiet things. I love spending time with my cat, hiking, playing video games and baking. I also dance to stay fit and healthy. Lately, I’ve gotten into crochet — surprisingly, it’s become one of my favourite ways to unwind. I like to brainstorm or listen to podcasts while I’m working on a piece, and finishing things like shawls or blankets that I can gift to others makes it even more rewarding.

What’s one book you think everyone should read?

The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. It’s a science fiction novel with nothing to do with my current work, but I’ve read it several times and it impresses me every single time. Each time I revisit it, I find it strangely empowering.

What’s your favorite spot to eat in the city?

Honestly, it’s Chipotle. I might love a nice, fancy restaurant, but the place I go to most is Chipotle — my personal record is three times in one week. For me, it’s the most efficient option: quick, relatively healthy and consistently delicious. 20 Under 40: Euphy Xuejun Liu euphy Focus Interview by Kieran Delamont / Photos by Reid Lucier
