20 Under 40: Dr. Lindsay Milroy

Meet Dr. Lindsay Milroy, 37, neuroradiologist, London Health Sciences Centre, assistant professor, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and one of our 20 Under 40 Class of 2026 recipients

DR. LINDSAY MILROY’S clinical practice spans the full range of diagnostic neuroradiology, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and treatment of spine-related conditions through minimally invasive spine interventions. With a special interest in the detection and management of cerebrospinal fluid leaks, she is dedicated to advancing patient care through collaboration, innovation and education. She is also deeply committed to the success of next generation of radiologists (and is the recipient of multiple residents’ choice awards for best teaching rounds), knowing that strong training today translates into better care for our local communities tomorrow.

What is your biggest career achievement so far, or the thing that you’re most proud of?

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is being recognized by my trainees for my teaching. Since starting in London in 2022, I’ve received multiple residents’ choice awards — honours typically given to more established staff. While the awards are meaningful, the true privilege is mentoring trainees and watching them succeed, knowing I’ve helped them along the way.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I’d focus on two lessons I’ve learned over time. One: recognize when ‘good enough’ really is good enough, instead of chasing perfection. And two: protect your yeses with nos — your time and energy are precious, and learning to say no can make all the difference.

When you’re not working, what are you most passionate about?

My greatest passion is my family. With two children under the age of two, my time away from work is centered on being present with them and supporting my family in the ways that matter most. I’m deeply motivated by the example I set — showing my children that it’s possible to work hard, pursue a meaningful career and still show up fully for the people you love.

What’s your favourite spot to eat in the city?

Renee’s Sandwich Shop for work lunches, and the scones at Old North Sconery are my favourites.

And finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?

I’ve loved baking and cooking shows since I was a little kid. You can find me binge watching anything from The Great Canadian Baking Show to Master Chef or Is It Cake?  Interview by Kieran Delamont / Photos by Reid Lucier
