AS THE FOUNDER of Upstaging Limited, Jillian Summers is an award-winning home staging and interior design professional, spending more than 17 years transforming properties into emotionally compelling spaces. Overseeing creative direction, business strategy and client relationships, she has built a brand and culture rooted in trust, accountability and excellence.
“I started with nothing — no money, no resources, just belief and a relentless work ethic”
“I started with nothing — no money, no resources, just belief and a relentless work ethic,” Summers explains. “As a single mother, I was driven to build something of my own and to make my son proud. I used my own furniture to stage my first homes, focusing on delivering results that spoke for themselves. That first step wasn’t perfect, but it was intentional. I believed if I could create real value, the business would follow — and it did.”

She has learned to trust her instincts, delegate effectively and embrace progress over perfection, creating a resilient and aligned team environment. “Culture is the foundation of everything we do,” she says. “I prioritize respect, accountability and a shared commitment to excellence. Skill matters, but attitude matters more.”
Today, Summers gauges success not only by business growth, but by impact, well-being and presence. “I time-block my schedule, protect personal time and focus on what truly moves the needle,” she says. “Being present with my family, especially my son, is non-negotiable. And working in our charity brings me so much joy and reminds me of what really matters.” ![]()
