What a room costs at River Rock

Room types, rates, dining venues, parking fees and check-in rules at the 396-room hotel inside River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC

THE FIRST DECISION is simple: stay on the property at 8811 River Road, or book cheaper somewhere else in Richmond and travel in. The second option saves money on paper and costs you time, because the resort sits on top of Bridgeport Station, the junction of the Canada Line, and almost nothing else in the area is that close to both the airport and downtown Vancouver.

Nightly rates move a lot by season and day of week. Published figures range from about $210 at the low end of one rating service to an average of roughly $413 on a booking aggregator, with deals recorded as low as $117. One price tracker puts Tuesday as the cheapest night, averaging $214. A corporate rate class quoted $253. Treat those as a range to plan around, not a price list.

The hotel has 396 rooms across 11 storeys, interior corridors, smoke-free, and opened with the resort on June 25, 2004. The casino floor, show theatre, marina and spa are all under the same roof or a short walk along the boardwalk.

Where it is and how to get there

Vancouver International Airport is 2.4 miles away, roughly a 7-minute drive. By train, Bridgeport Station is directly across from the resort and connects to the airport in a few minutes and to downtown Vancouver in about 18. The walk from platform to lobby is a covered walkway of two to five minutes, with escalators, stairs and an elevator if you are carrying luggage; a Zone 2 fare was reported at $4.

Driving, take Highway 99 exit 39 northbound or exit 39A southbound, west on Bridgeport Road, then north on Great Canadian Way. Bridgeport Station is also a major bus hub, with routes including 430, 403, 407, 412, 352, 354, 620, 311, 351, 601, 602, 603, 100 and N10; the 620 runs to Tsawwassen for BC Ferries.

What the rooms are and what the rate covers

Categories run from deluxe rooms with a King or two Queen beds up to one- and two-bedroom suites. Tower Rooms sit in the South Tower across from the main resort, which matters if you want to avoid a walk at midnight. Rooms include a flat-screen TV, mini fridge, Nespresso machine and kettle, in-room safe, iron and wireless internet; some have balconies. A microwave is subject to availability and carries a $25 daily fee.

Breakfast is not bundled into the rate. A cooked-to-order breakfast runs about CAD 22.00 per person. The Fitness Centre and Pool, which has a waterslide, are open daily from 6am to 10pm, and Absolute Spa operates six private treatment rooms on site.

If you are checking what actually trades under this name beyond the Richmond property, an independent review site covers River Rock online and separates the operator’s own pages from unaffiliated ones using the same wording.

How to book, step by step

1) Fix your dates first and check whether a Tuesday night fits, since that is where the lowest averages land.

2) Decide between the main hotel and a South Tower room before you compare prices, because the walk differs.

3) Count your party: a one- or two-bedroom suite can replace two rooms and change the arithmetic.

4) Add CAD 22.00 per person per day if anyone in the group wants a cooked breakfast, and $25 per day if you need a microwave.

5) Add parking: overnight valet is $33.00 per night, and over-height self-parking in the East Parkade is $25.00 per night.

6) For pets, booking aggregators quote CAD 39.20 per accommodation per day, capped at CAD 117.60 per stay; the hotel does not publish the figure itself, so confirm it when booking. Service animals are exempt.

7) Check show dates at the 1,000-seat theatre before locking the night, then confirm the reservation.

Hours, age limits and house rules

Check-in is 4:00 PM, check-out 11:00 AM, and you must be 19 or older to check in. The gaming floor, which covers 70,000 square feet and runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, is also 19+, and that restriction extends to the food court inside it. Dress code is casual: shirts and shoes, nothing formal required.

Self-parking is entered from River Road on the west side of the casino, about a five-minute walk from the hotel entrance; the same parkade doubles as the Bridgeport park-and-ride, so it fills.

Is it worth the rate

The case for booking here is logistical. You get a 7-minute airport run, a station at the door, 10 dining venues without leaving the building, a pool open 16 hours a day, and a marina boardwalk with a three-storey viewpoint over the Fraser River. The casino adds more than 1,200 slots and electronic table games, more than 80 live tables, a live racebook and a poker room running cash games around the clock, with limits from $1/$2 to $10/$20 and daily tournaments at 2PM and 7PM.

The case against is price volatility. At $117 the location is hard to beat in Richmond; at $413 you are paying resort pricing for a room near an airport. Ownership changed on June 16, 2026, when a partnership of Petroglyph Development Group and Musqueam Capital Corp completed the purchase, with operations run through Lahal Casino Management, so loyalty details are worth confirming at the desk.

Gaming and hotel check-in are restricted to guests 19 and over; set a budget before you play and stop when you reach it.
