I GREW UP driving my dad’s pick-up trucks, and I’ve had them myself since 2002. I don’t think I’d ever drive a car. I love sitting up high, and I like the convenience, the look and the presence of a truck.

I BOUGHT THIS on my birthday in January of last year. I had a GMC Sierra 1500 before this, but I wanted something a little heavier with a little better towing capabilities. Plus, I didn’t really like the look of the new Sierra, so I went with the Chevy.

I LOVE THE colour. Everyone knows black is hard to keep clean, but when it is clean—which is pretty much all the time—it looks amazing.

I LIKE TO be in control of things in my life and in my business, and I guess that transfers over to my vehicle. In this truck, I definitely feel like I’m in control of my space on the road. And, really, if something were to happen, I think I’m pretty safe in this thing.

I TELL PEOPLE I opted for the diesel engine in hopes of squeezing out a little better fuel mileage. But truthfully, it’s because I liked the sound of it.

I THINK THE only thing I would like to change is the tires. I’d like them to be a little bit bigger. I’m just waiting until the original tires wear down a little more, and then I’ll change them out for something bigger.

I’M PRETTY SURE most people think I’m driving my other half’s truck. That is until they see the RCK GRL license plate. I actually feel sorry for him when he has to drive it.

EVERY YEAR I do a job up in Owen Sound. I love to take the truck, and I really look forward to that trip.
