PUBLIC RELATIONS AND digital marketing firm JESSCO announced this week that its founder and principal, Jessica Moran, has received the 2020 PR in Canada #WowMom award.

The award, announced this past Mother’s Day, highlights Canadian working mothers in the advertising, communications, public relations and marketing industries.

“I am honoured to have been the successful recipient of the PR in Canada #WowMom award,” said Moran. “Being a female entrepreneur in the marketing and communications industry, in addition to a mom of two children, including one with special needs, isn’t easy, especially during Covid-19. As it is with other moms, I am now faced with managing work and home life with very little external supports. It is quite rewarding to be recognized for those commitments.”

A seasoned marketing and communications professional with almost two decades of industry experience, Moran is a specialist in media relations and has accumulated millions of earned media coverage views for her clients, in addition to executing countless authentic paid digital media campaigns.

“Combining PR expertise with digital marketing efforts, such as SEO, SEM and PPC, is a winning, powerful combination. It is a unique business offering built on 18 years of experience” ―Jessica Moran

Leading up to the announcement, the PR in Canada #WowMom award celebrated and acknowledged several noteworthy nominees, including  Shauna MacDonald, principal and founder of Brookline Public Relations, Peggy Vrettis, account manager at 1Milk2Sugars, Lisa Lisbin, group vice president at Brookline Public Relations, Christine Faulhaber, president & CEO at Faulhaber and Leanna Kruk, group director, Brookline Public Relations. Nominations were open to PR professionals across Canada and scoring for the award was based on a total of 100 points ― 75 per cent based on the nomination submission and 25 per cent based on votes from the industry community.

“As the Founder of PR in Canada, I have the opportunity to connect with talented professionals across the industry and I wanted to highlight the outstanding commitment that women showcase on an ongoing basis both in and out of the boardroom,” said Dave Forde, PR in Canada founder. “It is important to me to amplify and recognize the hard work that is being done by female founders and executives within the PR Industry in Canada. With their management of both work and home life, they deserve to be publicly recognized for their success.”

Since its official launch in January 2020, JESSCO has supported a client base spanning various industry sectors, including non-profit, start-ups, technology, healthcare, cannabis, pharmaceutical, financial, film production and more. The firm’s client base includes a diverse range of businesses, such as Dr. Mike Hart, The Health Depot Pharmacy, Strainprint Technologies, Marigolds Cannabis, Chalkboard Publishing, BIG Digital, Chef Jordan Wagman, BenVCapital, the Isolation Short Film Festival, Athletes for CARE, HelloMD, Stay at Home Heroes, Crossing All Bridges, Gallery Brands and many more.

“Combining PR expertise with digital marketing efforts, such as SEO, SEM and PPC, is a winning, powerful combination,” explained Moran. “It is a unique business offering built on 18 years of experience. A Top 40 Under 40 PR in Canada recipient, Moran was also named as a Top 50 Cannabis Heroes in Canada by High! Canada Magazine. A passionate community contributor, Moran is the volunteer marketing director for Athletes for CARE, PR director for the Isolation Film Festival and an advisor and volunteer for Crossing All Bridges, a group dedicated to facilitating enriching community experiences for individuals with varying developmental abilities.
