Nuts For Butter, a new product line from Nuts For Cheese, named 2020 Most Innovative Product by the Canadian Health Food Association
LONDON-BASED FOOD processor Nuts For Cheese has announced that its new product line, Nuts for Butter, has been recognized by the Canadian Health Food Association as its Most Innovative Product for 2020.
The award recognizes original products that are cutting-edge and leading the curve in marketplace trends. Chosen from a pool of six finalists, Nuts For Butter was awarded for its high quality and ability to offer customers a deliciously smooth, creamy and buttery alternative that can be used in a one-to-one ratio for dairy butter in cooking or baking.
Nuts For Butter, which is being shipped to retailers across Canada, is a cashew-based, 100 per cent dairy-free butter. It is certified vegan, organic and fair-trade, and comes in two flavours: Salted Original and Herb & Garlic.
“We’re thrilled that Nuts For Butter is officially award-winning,” says Nuts For Cheese founder and CEO, Margaret Coons. “R&D has become a key priority for us as we strive to expand the plant-based category and grow our Nuts For family of products. My team has been instrumental in this launch, and I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Earlier this year, Nuts For Cheese landed a deal to supply U.S. food stores with its vegan cheeses. The company has tripled sales year-over-year and recently more than doubled its production facility footprint, growing from 9,000 square feet to a total of 20,000 square feet on Pacific Court.
In addition, investments in production equipment have dramatically increased product shelf life to meet growing demand locally and in new markets. By Investing extensively in automation and technology, the shelf life of Nuts For Cheese products has increased from 49 to 120 days, making the products more attractive to retailers in new markets in Western Canada and south of the border.
