THE LONDON ENVIRONMENTAL Network, the City of London and the London Public Library are presenting this year’s Green in the City, an annual event series tackling environmental and sustainability topics. The series aims to explore topics through a local lens by highlighting leaders in various sectors, including grassroots groups, institutions, nonprofits, government and businesses.
“Green in the City has become a really special event and I’m proud of the collaboration between the City of London, London Public Library, and London Environmental Network,” notes Jay Stanford, director, climate change, environment & waste management at the City of London. “Together, with the help and expertise of the exceptional group of speakers we’ve gathered for this year’s webinar series, we are able to demonstrate that real climate change action is occurring right here in London or nearby. This can be used to build confidence to do more, a must for all of us.”
“Seeing the audience for this series continue to grow shows us the importance of keeping the focus on sustainability and helping to tell the story of all that Londoners are doing to make this a greener city” ―Joanna Kerr
In its fourth rendition and second year online, Green in the City aims to showcase diverse perspectives and local leaders that are truly demonstrating what it takes to make London a greener city.
“Seeing the audience for this series continue to grow shows us the importance of keeping the focus on sustainability and helping to tell the story of all that Londoners are doing to make this a greener city,” shares Joanna Kerr, public services librarian with London Public Library.
In addition to learning from these sustainability perspectives, the Green in the City series has also launched a contest for a chance to win amazing prizes and celebrate environmental action in London. Simply share a photo or video on social media that demonstrates an environmental action with the hashtag #whatmakesagreencity for a chance to win one of 15 prizes!
