THIS YEAR’S FINALISTS for the Limitless 2022 awards, a prize for the region’s established and emerging innovators launched by TechAlliance in early 2021, have been announced, and Londoners can now vote for their choice for the People’s Choice Awards component of the program.
According to TechAlliance, the Limitless program is designed as a way to “highlight individuals and businesses in the region who are leveraging technology to develop creative solutions, harnessing equitable practices to empower an inclusive and vibrant community, and growing some of the most promising ventures to bolster a globally competitive innovation economy.”

Across four categories, this year’s finalists are:
The Breakthrough Award recognizes a company who has brought a novel, impactful solution to the market, demonstrating a breakthrough solution with significant realized or potential market impact.

• Refuel Mobile
• SoilOptix
The Gamechanger Award recognizes a company whose culture is paramount to the success of their business, accelerating growth and profitability while creating positive impact by going above and beyond to move the needle on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Canada Life
• eSupply Canada
• 1Password
The Scaleup Award recognizes a technology-powered company that has realized substantial growth over the last 12 months through leadership, market impact, and innovation.

• Motif Labs
• Paystone
The Forthcomer Award recognizes a trailblazing young professional, 29 years of age and under, with an innovative solution or business to celebrate the next generation of big thinkers, dreamers, and go-getters.

• Shawn Miller, SizeWize
All 12 finalists are eligible for the People’s Choice Award, which will be open for voting until January 12, 2022.
“The recovery and revitalization of our economy is fueled by game-changers, forthcomers, breakthroughs and scale-ups,” says Christina Fox, chief executive officer at Techalliance. “Cultivating an opportunity to give deserved recognition to world-class innovators at Limitless again has ignited a flurry of support and success within our region. These finalists have shown the integrity and ingenuity of Southwestern Ontario’s innovation corridor, and we are eager to celebrate those accelerating change innovation, and disruption.

The winners from the 2021 awards were: Marlow, a tampon startup that won the Breakthrough Award; Start.ca, an internet provider that won the Gamechanger Award; VidHug, a video platform that won the Scaleup Award; and Saumik Biswas of Pathlogix won the Forthcomer Award. Hux, a women’s underwear company, took home the People’s Choice Awards.
For the first time, these awards will be able to be handed out in person, too. The awards gala, called ‘Limitless: A Celebration of Regional Innovation’ will take place on February 9, 2022, at The Factory at 100 Kellogg Lane. Tickets are now available.
