WHEN THE BRIGHTEST innovators and trailblazers of London’s business community gather at RBC Place London on September 25, they’ll have plenty to celebrate. The annual London Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards gala is the crowning event of our city’s busy business calendar, and the gala event — which this year marks its 41st anniversary — has grown to become the largest of its kind in Canada.

This year’s finalists represent the diverse spectrum of our local business community — everything from technology and professional services firms to food-and-beverage businesses, specialized manufacturers and community-minded organizations. Over the past few months, a distinguished line-up of volunteer BAA judges have meticulously reviewed and reduced a long list of nominees to 24 finalists in nine categories. And while hard statistics like revenues, employment growth and bottom-line results are all important criteria in selecting the finalists, additional qualities like innovation, people and culture, business initiatives and building on a stronger community are equally critical.
“At the heart of the Business Achievement Awards’ success are its volunteer judges, who play an instrumental role in shaping the event’s outcome,” says Graham Henderson, CEO of the London Chamber. “With meticulous dedication, a substantial group of preliminary judges meticulously review over 100 applications, diligently sifting through the candidates to narrow them down to a handful of exceptional finalists.”
Included in the BAA program is the Corporate Icon Award, given annually to a business that has demonstrated a substantial long-term contribution to the economic progress of the London community. Unlike other BAA awards, the Corporate Icon Award is announced in advance of the awards gala. Read about the 2024 Corporate Icon Award, London International Airport, here.

Proof Line Farm
PROOF LINE FARM is no spring chicken — it’s a sixth-generation family farm in Ilderton (five minutes north of London) that has been in operation since the 1850s. But after finding success selling eggs at a roadside stand based on an honour system, brothers Mike and Steve McNaughton, and Steve’s wife Janan McNaughton, stepped up operations by opening a creamery and farm market on the 60-hectare farm north of London on Ilderton Road west of Richmond Street.
The new 5,000-square-foot market building, which doubles as a production facility and retail space, showcases the farm’s small-batch dairy products, local meat and farm-fresh eggs. The new creamery and farm market blends the history, tradition and quality of local agriculture with the amenities and conveniences modern customers seek.
The Proof Line Farm product range includes fresh whole milk (white and chocolate), gelato made using locally sourced ingredients, an espresso bar, yogurt and more. Locally sourced ingredients are the heart of the Proof Line Farm business and are prominently featured in its signature gelato and espresso bar. The farm market also stocks beef, fresh eggs and other seasonal offerings from its operation as well as local food from neighbouring farms and food producers, such as honey, maple syrup and produce.
