Growing up in a family-run enterprise Loretta Gordon Bock always knew she wanted to stay involved in the jewelry business. “I fell in love with working with people and found beauty in the works of art that each piece of jewelry can offer,” she says.
“Twenty years ago, what I deemed success is all history now. In following through towards a target for success, I’ve learned to always be ready to alter the direction”
Becoming part owner in 1991 and then taking the helm in 2004, she quickly took the business to new heights but was also tasked to overcome challenges as the business flourished. “Varied challenges are faced in any industry; for us, the phase of rapid growth was our greatest challenge. We realized the business was ruling us and we needed to master the many unique issues of growth all at once. I created a mantra for myself — ‘learn to love change’ — which is just as befitting today as it was then.”

Of course, when one achieves a measure of business success, the natural evolution of growth demands you don’t just sit still. And for Gordon Bock, moving forward with flexibility in mind has become key.
