KIM ATKINSON IS the co-founder and COO of Foundery, a full-service digital marketing agency helping businesses stay relevant and discoverable in today’s AI-driven landscape. She works where operations and client success meet, overseeing delivery, growth and innovation to keep the agency ahead of industry trends.
“Marketing is being reshaped in real time by AI, and what worked even a year ago is already outdated. Staying ahead means evolving our approach before clients feel the impact”
Through early work experiences, from hospitality to conservation work in Southern Africa, Atkinson has developed a strong foundation in communication, behaviour and audience understanding. These experiences shaped her business instincts and people-focused approach. “What that gave me was a bias toward asking questions and a strong instinct for problem-solving,” she explains. “Entrepreneurship came from seeing gaps in how businesses were showing up online and how agencies were delivering value.”
Navigating the rapid pace of change in marketing, Atkinson prioritizes intentional processes, continuous learning and clear communication. “Marketing is being reshaped in real time by AI, and what worked even a year ago is already outdated. Staying ahead means evolving our approach before clients feel the impact.”

She sees success not as a static destination but as a dynamic journey that requires flexibility and continuous evolution to maintain. At times, work can be more demanding, but she has learned that long-term performance depends on taking care of oneself. For her, that means time with family and friends, staying active and stepping away from screens. As she puts it: “It’s less about perfect balance and more about being deliberate with where my time and energy go.” ![]()
