Tesla to open London service centre

Tesla will open a service centre location at the former Porsche of London location on Oxford Street West

ACCORDING TO A report in the London Free Press on Monday, California-based automaker Tesla has purchased the former location of Porsche of London at 600 Oxford Street West and will convert it into a Tesla service centre.

Porsche of London has recently relocated its sales and service facility to 1265 Wharncliffe Road South.

There are currently six Tesla service centres in Ontario ― four in and around the GTA, one in Ottawa and one in Kitchener, which is the closest service option for Tesla owners in London.

According to the report, Darryn John, founder of the online publication Drive Tesla Canada, says Tesla has plans to open an additional half dozen service centres in Canada in 2021.

Currently there are two buildings on the Oxford Street West property, a 12,678-square-foot main building with a large service area and an additional 4,180-square-foot building. While there is no opening date for the new service centre is unknown, John says Tesla has opened stations in other cities a few months after purchasing properties.
