What is your biggest career achievement so far, or the thing that you’re most proud of?

Not a single title or milestone, but the path I have been entrusted to walk. Each step, including the unexpected turns, delays and new beginnings, has drawn me closer to the work I am meant to do and the people I am meant to serve. I carry this journey with deep gratitude for my family in Brazil, whose love, prayers and constant support have lifted me in every season. I am also profoundly thankful for the kindness of the London community, especially Diagnostics Biochem Canada, Fanshawe College, Western University and CME-SWOB, who welcomed me, believed in me and gave me space to grow and contribute. I may not know the final outcome of my path, but to know that walking it with purpose, humility, and thankfulness is, for me, the achievement I am most proud of.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Be intentional with your time, your energy and your choices. Say yes thoughtfully, not just often. Choose projects, learning experiences and relationships that support your long-term goals.

What’s one lesson or experience from the past year you’re hoping to carry forward with you?

To be more mindful when saying yes or no. It’s something many people associate with time management or scheduling, but for me, it goes deeper than that — it’s about being intentional with what I choose to focus on.

What kinds of music do you enjoy?

I love music that brings me peace, especially instrumental worship. I also enjoy listening to Brazilian music and some hits from the 2000s.

And finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?

Looking through old photos and letting myself feel nostalgic. I love revisiting places that were really meaningful to me because it’s part of my healing process. 20 Under 40: Melina Rodrigues Bellini melina 20 Under 40 Interview by Kieran Delamont / Photos by Reid Lucier
